They grow on all continents except glaciers, they can be found in hot climates, tropical islands, the fridgid northern countries, and even your back yard. They live in trees, in soil, underground (yes one lives and blooms and never sees the sun) with or without regular water. There are more than 28,000 types of orchids dating back 100,000,000 years!!. Those plotting with them to take over the world, have hybridized more than 100,000 addiional varieties for what kind of purpose you might ask.
